NAG C Library Installation Instructions for Macintosh

A licensed copy of the NAG C Library is required in order to use the Maple-NAG Connector.

This product is compatible with NAG C Library versions CLAMP07DAL on Macintosh.

Macintosh users must be running OS®X on PowerPC™ architecture to use this product.

The shared object file libnagc.dylib must be installed to a system location that is in the default search path of the dynamic runtime linker. A recommended location is /usr/lib.

If you do not have permission to copy libnagc.dylib to a system location then you may copy that file to the location into which the Maple-NAG Connector executables are installed. This copy would only be made after installing the Maple-NAG Connector. The location would typically be maple/toolbox/11/NAG/bin.APPLE_PPC_OSX/ under your home directory.

In order to run the Maple-NAG Connector from within Maple's Standard user interface (Java GUI), a line specifying the location of the FLEXlm license for the NAG C Library must be added to the user's ~/.flexlmrc configuration file. The following line of text is an example,

   NAG_LICENSE_FILE=/usr/local/nag/license/license.dat

In order to run the Maple-NAG Connector from within Maple's TTY (or shell) interface, the OSX environment variable LM_LICENSE_FILE must be set to the explicit full location of the FLEXlm license for the NAG C Library. For example, in bash shell command syntax,

   LM_LICENSE_FILE=/usr/local/nag/license/license.dat
   export $LM_LICENSE_FILE
