To install and use the Maple-NAG Connector, complete the following
steps.
Pre-installation Instructions
- Check the Linux System Requirements.
- Log on to the account that will own the Maple files. Ensure you have appropriate
read and write privileges.
- Ensure that you are connected to the Internet. If your computer does not
have an Internet connection, please contact your distributor or Maplesoft
customer service.
- This product requires Maple 11 or later.
To identify your Maple release:
- Start Maple.
- From the Help menu, select About Maple. The About Maple
11 dialog indicates the release number.
To update to the latest Maple release:
From the Tools menu, select Check for Updates and follow the
instructions. If that option is dimmed, obtain the update from the downloads
section of the Maplesoft Web site.
- This product requires the NAG C Library.
- Close all programs.
NAG C Library Installation Instructions for Linux
A licensed copy of the NAG C Library is required in order to use the Maple-NAG
Connector.
This product is compatible with NAG C Library Mark 7 version CLLUX07DDL
and NAG C Library Mark 8 versions CLLUX08DGL and CLL3A08DGL.
The value of the environment variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH must include locations of
the NAG C Library's runtime shared-object components.
For example, if the NAG C Library Mark 7 version CLLUX07DDL has been installed
under /usr/local/nag/cllux07ddl/, then LD_LIBRARY_PATH can be augmented appropriately
with the following bash shell syntax command:
LD_LIBRARY_PATH = /usr/local/nag/cllux07ddl:/usr/local/nag/cllux07ddl/mkl-lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH::
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH

Download the Maple-NAG Connector
Install Maple-NAG Connector
- Ensure you have reviewed the Pre-installation Instructions.
- To begin installing Maple-NAG Connector, choose one of the following:
- Change directory to the location of the MapleNAGConnector_Linux.bin file you
downloaded and run the file with the command ./MapleNAGConnector_Linux.bin.
- On the Maple-NAG Connector CD, locate MapleNAGConnector_Linux.bin
in the Linux/SingleUser folder. Run the file with the command ./MapleNAGConnector_Linux.bin.
- Follow the on-screen instructions. You can install Maple-NAG Connector in
either of the following locations.
- Personal copy
/home/$USERNAME/maple/toolbox/11/NAG
- Single machine multi-user copy
/home/$USERNAME/maple11/toolbox/NAG
- When prompted, enter the purchase code you were emailed and other required
information to activate.
- If you activated successfully, you are ready to use Maple-NAG Connector.
If you had problems activating or chose not to activate during the installation,
see Linux Single User Activation.
Linux Single User Activation
- Ensure that you are connected to the Internet. If your computer does not
have an Internet connection, please contact your distributor or Maplesoft
customer service.
- Change directory to the location of your Maple-NAG Connector with Maple
installation. The two default locations are:
- /home/$USERNAME/maple/toolbox/11/NAG
- /home/$USERNAME/maple11/toolbox/NAG
- Run the activation script located in the license directory
of your installation.
- Enter your purchase code. If you are activating behind a proxy server,
ensure that you enter this information before clicking Next.
- Enter additional information and click Next.
- A license file (MapleNAGConnectorToolbox.dat)
is saved in the license folder of your installation.
If you experience difficulties with activation, follow the instructions in
the readme.txt file in the license folder of your installation.

Getting Started
For help with the Maple-NAG Connector after installation, launch the Maple-NAG
Connector Start Page.
- Open the NAGStartPage.mw file in the Maple-NAG installation directory.
