- NAG showcases 'CVA at Scale' work and new Algorithmic Differentiation software
27 September 2018 - NAG publish new work in their Technical Poster ‘CVA at Scale with Adjoint Sensitivities’. Alongside this work, for the first time, NAG have introduced a set of Algorithmic Differentiation (AD) enabled algorithms within their flagship NAG Library and announce further updates to dco/c++ - AD software tool for computing sensitivities of C++ codes.

16 June 2016 - NAG have engineered NAG C Library algorithms to execute efficiently on Cavium Inc.’s (NASDAQ: CAVM) ThunderX ARMv8-A based Workload Optimized Processors. Preliminary results, announced at ISC High Performance 2016, show excellent scaling across 96 cores of ThunderX in a dual socket configuration.

12 November 2015 - Building on NAG's industry-tested BLAS, LAPACK and FFT math routines enables ARM to bring mature, accurate and validated core libraries to market quickly. ARM Performance Libraries are multithreaded, optimized for Advanced SIMD and built using the industry's latest compilers, enabling peak throughput on 64-bit ARM SoC designs.

6 November 2015 - An impartial HPC technology intelligence and analysis subscription service will be launched at SC15 by the Numerical Algorithms Group (NAG) and Red Oak Consulting. The NAG HPC Technology Intelligence Service in partnership with Red Oak Consulting will deliver technology insight and risk-reduction to help HPC buyers and users make better decisions and optimize their HPC investments.
- Maximize production with new NAG Library Mixed Integer Nonlinear Programming algorithms
9 September 2015 - The Numerical Algorithms Group announce new algorithms in the NAG Library for Mixed Integer Nonlinear Programming. The underlying algorithm is a modified Sequential Quadratic Programming (SQP) stabilised by using trust regions and can deal with both convex and nonconvex problems and problems with possibly expensive function evaluations.
- Partial Differential Equations ‘dolfin-adjoint’ Software wins the 2015 Wilkinson Prize
11 June 2015 – The Numerical Algorithms Group (NAG), Argonne National Laboratory and the National Physical Laboratory announce the winner of the co-sponsored Wilkinson Prize 2015 to P.E. Farrell (University of Oxford), S.W. Funke (Simula Research Laboratory), D.A. Ham (Imperial College) and M.E. Rognes (Simula Research Laboratory) for “dolfin-adjoint”, a package which automatically derives and solves adjoint and tangent linear equations from high-level mathematical specifications of finite element discretisations of partial differential equations. The presentation of the award will take place at the International Congress on Industrial and Applied Mathematics (ICIAM 2015) in Beijing.

6 May 2015 - The Numerical Algorithms Group, provider of numerical and HPC services and solutions announces availability of the latest NAG Library including over 80 new mathematical and statistical algorithms. The new functionality included at Mark 25 of the Library brings the number of available functions to over 1,800, all of which are expertly documented and includes extensions in the ares of Change Point Analysis, LARS / LASSO / Forward Stagewise Regression, Mixed Integer Nonlinear Programming, Nearest Correlation Matrix, Unscented Kalman Filter, plus a new OpenMP Utilities chapter.
- Numerical Algorithms Group and Red Oak Consulting support KAUST petascale supercomputer project
11 December 2014 - Trusted HPC expertise and experience from the Numerical Algorithms Group (NAG) and Red Oak Consulting was a key component of a large supercomputer project announced at SC14 by King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia. The project awarded a contract to Cray Inc. for a supercomputer with nearly 200,000 cores, plus options for future upgrades. KAUST benefited from NAG and Red Oak consulting during the procurement and planning processes of the project, and will continue to do so into the commissioning and acceptance phases.

27 March 2014 - Every four years the Numerical Algorithms Group (NAG), the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) and Argonne National Laboratory award the prestigious Wilkinson Prize in honour of the outstanding contributions of Dr James Hardy Wilkinson to the field of numerical software. The next Wilkinson Prize will be awarded at the International Congress on Industrial and Applied Mathematics in Beijing, and will consist of a $3000 cash prize.

18 November 2013 – The Numerical Algorithms Group (NAG), global HPC services, numerical solutions and software company has been awarded another two HPC Innovation Excellence Awards at SC13, Denver. The awards recognised NAG’s HPC software innovations on two projects, CABARET and INCOMPACT 3D, undertaken by NAG’s Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) Service, part of the UK’s HECToR national supercomputing service. The judging panel - the HPC User Forum Steering Committee on behalf of awarding body IDC– agreed that both NAG’s contribution to CABARET and INCOMPACT 3D demonstrated high levels of HPC innovation.

17 June 2013 - The NAG Library for SMP & Multicore has been extended and now includes even more parallelized algorithms enabling users of shared memory systems to solve their numerical problems faster. Newly parallelized routines are applicable to problems in the areas of global optimization, matrix functions and statistics, including Gaussian mixture model, Brownian bridge and univariate inhomogeneous time series. This update to the NAG Library for SMP & Multicore will greatly benefit software developers wishing to easily exploit the performance potential of multicore systems without having to learn the intricacies of parallel programming, as well as those running large computations where execution speed is imperative.

- NAG Announces New ‘Scholarship in Statistics’ at the University of Hong Kong
March 2013 – The Numerical Algorithms Group, experts in numerical libraries and HPC services, are delighted to announce a new scholarship programme with the University of Hong Kong. The NAG Scholarship in Statistics will be awarded twice in the academic year 2012/2013. The first will be awarded to an MPhil or PhD candidate studying in the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science for the best thesis where NAG software is used.
